Joan McGee

Joan "Mama Jo" Holley McGee of Bodenham passed away on August 3, 2018 at her home with family and friends at her side. She was born in Pulaski on December 28, 1945 and was 72 years old. She loved her family and friends and was known as "Mama Jo" to all of them. She was a member of Greenwood Church of Christ, graduated from Bodenham High School as Salutatorian of her class and was a member of Bodenham Community Club, retired from the United States Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for 25 Years and previously worked at Bodenham and Minor Hill Cafeterias. Her hobbies include quilting, crafting, flowers, watching humming birds, and coloring. She milked cows and worked on the farm along side her husband. Visitation will be on Monday, August 6th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Funeral Service takes place on Tuesday, August 7th at 11:00am in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. David Hall officiating. Burial follows in Giles Memory Gardens, Pulaski, TN. Memorial donations are suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Parkinson's Research, P O Box 5014, Hagestown, MD 21741-5014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. (Bud) McGee, daughter, Tammy McGee, parents, Niles Nathan and Emmer Lea Hanna Holley, brothers, Gary Holley, Ted Holley, and grandson, Bobby McEntyre. She is survived by her, Son, Tommy (Beth) McGee of Lawrenceburg Son, Mike (Kimba) McGee of Lawrenceburg Daughter, Keila McGee (Rickey) Smith of Ethridge grandchildren, Hanna McGee (Justin) Belew, of Bodenham, Katie McGee of Lawrenceburg, Cassie Smith (Zak) Hutchinson of Leoma, Kyle Smith of Ethridge, and Mitch (Amanda) Vaughn of Lafayette. Brother, Nathan (Beverly) Holley of Gadsden, AL. Sister, Cheryl Holley Ralston of Bodenham Sister-in-laws, Kay Holley of Scotts Hill and Brenda Holley of Lawrenceburg Family friend, Rosanna Mize of Bodenham Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
