James Surles

James B. Surles, Sr., age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, January 08, 2019 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Giles County, TN, retired clerk for CSX Railroad, known to many as The Clock Repair Man, and a member of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Surles served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy Surles, Sr. and Della Davis Surles; and six brothers. He is survived by Wife - Barbara Ann Loyd Surles, Lawrenceburg, TN Three Sons - James B. Surles, Jr. (Sheila), Rogersville, AL Charlie Surles (Memra), Summertown, TN Larry Surles (Julie), West Chester, OH One Daughter - Pam Surles Reding (Steve), Florence, AL One Brother - Carl Surles (Becky), McMinnville, TN Two Sisters - Vivian Warren (Roger), Columbia, TN Norma Jean Surles, Pulaski, TN Eleven Grandchildren - Erin Surles Jorge (Rafael), Scott Surles (Chelsea), Nicholas Surles, Joanna Surles (Levi), Kristen Surles, Abby Surles Hines (Tripp), Sam Surles, Ella Surles, April Reding Vaden (Will), Stephanie Reding Stern (Brian), Chris Reding. Five Great-Grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019, with Kevin Marston officiating. Interment will follow at Giles Memory Gardens in Pulaski, TN.
