ILa Dean Nelson Collins, age 86, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019. She was born in Elkmont, Alabama on August 11, 1933. She was a retired insurance agent from Carr & Erwin Funeral Home and a member of The Well Church of God. Preceding her in death are her parents, John L. and Lillian Rebecca Eaton Nelson, her husband, Richard Collins, and her brothers, Morris Nelson and Dennie Wayne Nelson. She is survived by her sons, Stan Smith and wife Barbara of Lynnville, TN, Phillip Smith of Franklin, TN, her daughter, Sheila Hastings of Lynnville, TN, her step-son, Danny Collins and wife Debbie of Columbia, TN, her brother, David Nelson and wife Ruth of Harvest, AL, her sister, Martha Ann McCauthrn of Decatur, AL, 7 of her grandchildren, and 13 of her great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with the burial to follow in Giles Memory Gardens.
